Here is a preview sketch of tomorrow’s Fanciest Lumps comic. This is a Depression, a weird spirit with an eyeball under his ghost skirt

Here is a preview sketch of the Fanciest Lumps comic character Death that will appear in this week’s comic. Not exactly a new concept to have Death as a character but he fits the feel of Fanciest Lumps, so I decided to go with it. I also think he might pay off well as a counterbalance or even a nice leveler to serious topics in the future.

I have been on a kick of infusing Day of the Dead style with various characters and I like the results. It makes me giggle silently to have both Spanish heritage representation with moroseness habits. It’s like having my rice and beans on paper. Which I’m going to try.

I am starting over with Fanciest Lumps. The concept of personality traits being split into spirits will still be there but I will be making it personal but at a distance. So I am working on new characters and new versions of past characters. Moot is an exaggerated version of myself and Murder Cat (I’ve been on a kick of adding ‘murder’ to everything ever since a conversation of Amtrak being the ‘Murder Train’) representing all the cats I’ve encountered but constantly dead.
